Caritas Background
Caritas Egypt was established following the 1967 war as a relief organization to provide services, goods and medicines to the displaced population due to the war in the Canal Zone. Recognized for its contributions,
Caritas Egypt was officially registered with the Ministry of Social Affairs as a non-governmental organization under number 1150 in 1967. It is affiliated and member of the Caritas Internationalis Confederation, which operates in 162 countries worldwide.
All member organizations focus on relief, emergency responses, humanitarian aid, local development, and social services for the poor and marginalized communities.

We aim to empower individuals to actively participate in sustaining their communities and respond to social, economic, and environmental challenges responsibly and with respect.
